Location: Ramara Trail
Date: April 19th
Well I can just say that this week’s walk was a huge difference from last week’s. This week it was about 4 degrees C compared to last weeks 25 degrees.
All 11 stalwart walkers were bundled up against the cold as we walked down the Ramara Trail. Despite the cold we still had a good assortment of sightings. At the narrows we saw Mute Swan, Common Mergansers, Canada Geese, Red-Winged Blackbirds, a Muskrat and a Great Blue Heron flying.
As we wandered down the trail it was quite quiet but we still managed to see and/or hear a Robin, a Starling, a pair of Osprey and a pair of Mallard ducks swimming down the water in the ditch. We heard Killdeer, Song Sparrow, Cardinal and an Eastern Phoebe. Across the road we saw some Ring-Billed Gulls.
We did see some Blood Root, closed up tight for the night.
