SIGHTS AND SOUNDS OF SPRING
It was a joyous evening for 12 members of ONC as we walked along Woodland Drive. Led by Denis, Carolyn and Heather (3 people were needed to take over for Muriel!!), we first went to see the wildlife at the bridges and then along the rail trail.
It was exciting to see the beavers (3) and evidence of their work (many beaver bites and fallen trees). Our feathered friends in the water included great blue herons, wood ducks, hooded mergansers, buffle-heads, mallards and, of course, Canada Geese. Overhead and in the trees were robins, chickadees, red-winged blackbirds, grackles, and a belted kingfisher.
Absent and yet to be heard are the many frogs. Next Tuesday…Muriel’s trip!
