We had 13 people in person at the Orillia Museum of Art & History and 16 people on Zoom for our first meeting back together for this program. Committee chairs shared their reports, and we got unway with our guest speaker Jean Iron, who joined via Zoom from her home. This saved a considerable amount of driving time! Jean spoke on The Nature of Arctic Birds and shared interesting facts and photos about the twelves species who are able to survive in this climate. For example, did you know that the plumage of a Snowy Owl makes up 5-7% of the bird’s mass, and 95% of it’s volume! This was very well received by those at home and in the meeting room. Thank you Jean for joining us again.
