Our first Sights and Sounds of Spring was a chilly -5 degrees C with a good cold wind blowing. Three of us walked down the rail trail to the ponds from the 14th concession. A little sun peeked out and it was nice to be out and about.
We saw two pairs of Mallard ducks looking for a good piece of real estate and a pair of Canada Geese landed considering the neighbourhood.
Overhead we saw a Great Blue Heron and a Cardinal singing in the start of spring.

On our way to the meeting place we saw two Trumpeter Swans making themselves comfortable beside Carthew Bay and on my way home I saw 4 White Tailed Deer running through the field with their tails flashing!
Well worth braving the cold and the few snowflakes that were falling.
